We Believe...

We are stronger together, because people need community!
Little litter Warrior’s mission is to educate, encourage and enrich children’s learning, preparing them for a lifetime of caring in their communities’ environment.

Karen Blanchfield, a litter heroes Ambassador for Keep Britain Tidy, has received various awards including the 2023 Green Apple International Gold Award and the Prime Minister's Points of Light award March 2024. She is passionate about keeping Worcestershire litter-free and believes in educating children about the impact of litter on the planet.

Karen founded Little Litter Warriors after litter picking with community groups for several years. As a scout leader and community litter picker since April 2018, she has delivered educational programs to over 24,000 children through schools and community groups.

In 2020, Wychavon District Council funded Karen's expenses to implement the Little Litter Warriors program for local schools. This practical program includes an engaging litter pick activity and classroom lessons, successfully involving 73 schools and inspiring over 17,000 pupils to take responsibility for their litter management.

From September 2021 to March 2026, the program is available to all Wychavon schools for KS1 to KS4 as part of their Anti-Litter Campaign, with KS5 being funded for community litter workshops.

Malvern District Council has funded the program for all 42 district schools since February 2025.

A powerful community network

Little litter warriors workshops inspire the children to litter pick their community areas.

Little Litter Warriors educational workshops offer children the chance to go out litter picking building awareness of why our litter decisions are important to the environment, wildlife, waterways and our planet.

Working together is key to change behaviours

Any Litter picker will tell you that they remove the litter on the road the one day and the next day more litter appears. Litter education is key to change behaviours around individuals litter management.

Mrs Williams, Cleeve Prior CE primary school
"On Tuesday 16th March, we were joined by the Little Litter Warriors whose mission is to raise awareness of the problem of littering in the Wychavon area and to encourage children to take responsibility for their rubbish and also take pride in their environment. The children worked really hard all afternoon collecting litter and it was astonishing, and disappointing, how much litter had ended up on the field"
"Karen from Little Litter Warriors came in on Monday and talked to the whole school about litter, how it doesn't biodegrade quickly, how it affects animals and what the children can do about it. The children collected litter around the school grounds and also Year 3/4 walked to the park and collected litter there and on the footpaths on the way. We collected over 2 bags of rubbish and
the oldest piece of litter was 9 years old!"
